About Us   arrow

Throughout Mr. Divine’s 45+ years of aviation experience ranging from military, general aviation, airplane manufacturer production test, small and major Airlines, and as an FAA Air Safety Inspector, his thoughtful opinions and dedicated focus to find the right solutions have been valued by many in major USA airlines; and for the past 11 years by International Expatriate Pilots from many countries. From the home based Pilot Service business of years past, and as a devoted flight instructor in all operational endeavors, Divine Aviation Consulting was initiated at the beginning of 2017 to furnish both new and experienced Expat Pilots a solid resource and central point to address the needs of all contract pilots across multi-cultural boundaries. We focus on benefits and insurance needs for the family, which are commonly missing for Contract Pilots. From primacy to effective correlation and application, the DAC staff’s focus is on customer service and end results.

Key Personnel

Thomas L. Divine
Managing Director
(Captain, UA (ret) & KE B747-400)
[email protected]

As a Captain on the B747-400, Thomas Divine retired from United Airlines (UA) in 2005 and joined Korean Air (KE) as a direct entry Expatriate Captain on August 01, 2006. In July, 2013 he became General Manager of Total Aviation Service (TAS), KE’s flight crew recruiting subsidiary in Los Angeles, CA. The focus now is to share his insights with as many as possible in general consulting.

During his career at UA from 1979 to 2005, he served as Line Captain B747-400, B767/757, A320, B737-300/500; as a First Officer, B747-400, B767/757; as a Second Officer B737-100/200; as a Flight Engineer, B727; and for over 3 years was a Training Check Airman, FAA Rating Examiner, B767/757.

During his time with KE, in addition to line flying, he served as the Advisor Vice President to both Flight Standards and Training, and as a Line Instructor Pilot on the B744. Having served on both the KE and UA Flight Operations new hire interview teams, his experience and insight to present applications for their strengths, not leaving the proper review to chance, presented the KE candidates comfort to know they were well represented from the initial application and throughout their career. The pilots appreciate the importance of representation of a competent pilot administrator, who also recognizes the rigors of the flight crew during worldwide airline flying. He feels strongly that no pilot should let complacency get the best of them, especially someone else’s complacency.

From an aviation beginning in U.S. Army Helicopters, 1972, Thomas has retired twice from the B747-400. In between helicopters and B747s he flew for a small regional turboprop airline in AR; was a production test pilot for Beech Aircraft in KS; Corporate and Charter operations, Bonanzas to King Airs, LearJets, and a Bell Jet Ranger helo, in TX.  Approaching Age 60, he left KE in 2009 to become the FAA Assistant Principle Operations Inspector for Continental Micronesia Airline (CMI), with the FAA office in Houston, flight inspections throughout the South Pacific Micronesia. His position ended with the merger between CMI and Continental/ United Airlines.

After high school graduation in Oklahoma, Thomas attended the University of California, Berkeley, studying Economics until joining the Army. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Aeronautical Studies, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL. More recently he has attended Master of Science classes at Texas State University, San Marcos, TX in Educational Technology.

Thomas (Tom) knows the many ends and outs of the Aviation Industry, because he has experienced many of them.  He maintains his FAA Certified Flight Instructor, ASME, Helicopter; Instrument- Airplane & Helicopter, with the remaining career goal of being a competent instructor and consultant to those highly motivated Expat Pilots in search of Quality processes.
